CORPORATION'S global geoethics –
morals and profits
Economical, ethical and
environmental is united in humanity's moral attitude to natural resources,
pollution sinks, and common natural goods and to inanimate nature as a whole.
Global geoethics synthesize these three “E”. Global geoethical analysis is
checking environment by both ethics, and economics. Profit rules economic relations
but the society corrects the situation with the aid of morals and law. For
example private ownership restricts free access to natural objects. The owner
is responsible morally and by law for their integrity. This means costs - for
guarding property, rational exhaustion or exploitation and for observing common
interests. Who must pay? Owner? But the people deprived of using this part of
nature also "pay" for their abstinence. So owner's expenses are
justified. But it is possible to diminish the costs.
In economics the state,
corporations (enterprises) and householders (families) form an interrelating
partnership. Any of them integrates himself in the geoethical system in his own
way. Economics in contemporary world gradually turns to be environment-friendly,
because "three E" behavior compensates expenses. To use resources
sparingly, to reduce pollution and wastes means to apply modern technologies.
That means to make profit and to spare on environmental taxes. Good publicity
will make goods you produce more marketable because they are "green".
So the geoethical corporation will make profit. Speaking broadly that means
"protestant's ethics": God will help to honest, hard working,
industrious, sparing and diligent people. He will reward them not only ideally
(in Heaven) but he will also make them rich and happy on Earth. Thus geoethical
behavior is a reward in itself. But to control one's behavior mans to act
according to rules. It is of use to formulate them.
Humanity as a whole,
corporations and individuals must have a geoethical code for each of the said
levels. Corporations should realize that their aim is not only profit and rent
but also safety, health, environment and numerous social tasks. Their slogan
must sound: "Be environmental in economics and economic in environment and check
your behavior by ethic codes."
./.
The "three E"
principles and rules for corporations are as follows:
1. Morality: "never
harm!"
2. Environment friendliness: nature,
ecosystems, health and safety - first!
3. Economic soundness:
a) All resources in economy
are limited - so spare and use rationally
natural resources, materials, ecosystems,
b) Do not squander - use less economically and environmentally
valuable things instead of more valuable ones, try to make wastes marketable,
c) Reduce pollution and wastes - their elimination, fees, taxes and
fines will cost more.
4. System:
a) Think globally, act locally
b) Keep environmental image along the whole production chain
(resources, processing, product, packing, and consumption),
c) Popularize, explain and demonstrate (in publicity, education etc.)
to the public and to the own personnel that
you act geoethically,
d) Support social and
environmental projects (good publicity),
e) Prevent social,
environmental and other conflicts, amalgamate production and social,
environmental, local and aboriginal problems - "conflict means losses".
